Welcome to Villanova University! We are delighted that you are joining us as a new member of our academic community, and we look forward to meeting you in person during the orientation program, August 19-20. The program has been designed to ensure a smooth, successful transition to your instructional role and familiarize you with mission, policies, and instructional resources. You can review the schedule for the 2024 Program for Faculty Newly-Appointed to Villanova for your reference.
As you are preparing for your teaching responsibilities, we would like to check-in with you on Zoom briefly over the next couple of weeks to welcome you personally and help answer any questions you might have.
Please click on this sign-up form to review available slots and sign up for one-on-one meetings with VITAL colleagues between 7/16 - 7/31. We offer morning and afternoon times to accommodate your schedules. When you sign up, you will receive confirmation including meeting information and the Zoom link. If you prefer a phone conversation, we are happy to do so; please send an email with date/time.
Prior to the program, you will be invited to participate in an asynchronous course on learning-centered online teaching offered in Blackboard. Please log into Blackboard and sign in with your Villanova email and password. Once in Blackboard, look under My Organizations on the right side of the page and then click on Seminar for Newly-Appointed Faculty at Villanova. The seminar offers videos, resources on student engagement and syllabus development, and other academic resources. You need to have a VU email and password to sign in (please reach out to the Office of the Provost for further details).
